250W LDMOS
The 250W RF power transistor for solid-state cooking and ISM (industrial, scientific and medical) applications in the 2.4 to 2.5GHz frequency band. Called BLP2425M10S250P, it is made on the company’s tenth-generation LDMOS process and operates with 67% drain efficiency. The body of the four-tab package is ~21 x 10 x 4mm (16 x 21mm with tabs/leads) and thermal thermal resistance from junction to case is 0.32 K/W (80°C case, 250W). The device is effectively two transistors with a common source. Gates are expected to be driven in parallel and drains taken out in parallel. Operation is from a 32Vdc supply (65V abs max). Power gain is typically 15dB and input return loss -15dB (Class-AB, 100mA drain, 100μs pulses, 10% duty, 25°C case)
TRIACS HANDLE
STMicroelectronics’ 800V 8H triacs operate at full rated current up to the maximum junction temperature of 150°C, allowing heatsinks in drives for AC loads to smaller, claims the company. The family spans 8A to 30A, and the 800V peak off-state voltage allows mains applications including operating from up to 400V three phase. They can withstand fast transients up to 6kV, and dV/dt up to 2kV/µs across the full junction-temperature range. Packaging is a choice of D2PAK, TO-220AB or TO-220AB insulated. Applications are foreseen in industrial, personal care, smart-home and smart-building applications – such as controls for HVAC systems, ac motor drives, water heaters, room heaters, lighting, home appliances and smart mains plugs.
EXCELSYS COOLX 3000 SERIES
The intelligent, user-configurable modular power supply offers analogue and digital management. It is equipped with up to 24 isolated outputs, all of which are isolated to 1850Vac. Input voltage range is 180Vac-264Vac (300Vac for 5s) while output voltage ranges from 1V- 696V. Ripple and noise is 1% of nominal levels. A potentiometer controls the voltage. The power supply has PMBus digital communications for monitoring and control capability. There are also series and parallel outputs for higher voltage and currents. The 3000 series offer up to 91% efficiency with variable fan speed control. There is also level 4 input surge protection with a MTBF of 150,000 hours. There is also an eight-way connector interface.
